Modifiers to Happiness

This page details the different things in order that have altered the happiness of the city over the course of The Council’s rule.

  1. Starting State: The populace are grumbling. Riots, Attacks on the city, the attempted “assassination” of the king, and the fractured groups within the walls all combine to create an air of dissatisfaction and unrest. Odds of negative random events increases the lower happiness is, while positive events increase as the city’s happiness increases. Start at 20% Happiness
  2. The party put on a standard arena Exhibition match, with a great deal of showmanship, raising happiness. +4% Happiness
  3. The Tournament of Tyr was a huge sucess, between the music festivals, gladiator combat, and obstacle course, the city’s general mood flew up. +16% Happiness
  4. A guard was caught by his fellows taking bribes. The Guard was shipped to the prison, and the people were pleased that their guards were so honorable. +2% Happiness
  5. A Preserver mage saved a family from a collapsing building, and was given a parade to honor their achievement. +8% Happiness
  6. A sickness in the Merchant district was stopped by rounding up the infected and burning them, stopping the sickness and saving the lives of guards and healers, but lowering happiness. -5% Happiness
  7. A musical festival, made up of all the minstrels and bards in the city, is being held in the Arena. +11 Happiness
  8. The Council picked a new flag for the city, Broken Shackles on a Field of Green. +1 Happiness
  9. The party funded a drunken festival at the Severed Arm, and rolled a d6 to determine it’s effect. +6 Happiness
  10. The collapse of the Warrens and the Death of a third of the city has put a damper on things. However, Tyrians are a stalwart people, and are starting to pick themselves up already. -29 Happiness
