The Mark of Tyranny
Writing Exercise Question: How do you pass your spare time?
Adran: I commune with nature. There is too much to do to waste time on trifles.
Aleyn: I don’t really need to sleep, so I run my store. It’s more fun than I would have expected!
Aristes: Well, me an’ Kes go on these nice moonlit romps around the city, fighting crime an’ finding secluded places to… never mind. She’d kill me if she heard me gossiping. But let me tell you; Wow.
Azad: You think I get this gold just to bathe in it? I drink, I whore, and I gamble. Gold provides everything ya need if ya look for it.
Betresh-Lal: I have no spare time. Time is short already.
Cha’ka: This one meditates on our situation. This one also has taken up an interest in plants, and Elthea has been teaching this one how to juggle.
Davion: Well, mostly lying in a single place. Occasionally I work up the strength to levitate or crawl around, but I don’t get out of the manor much.
Dragonborn Arena Master: When are we out of danger? I thought a Dragon was out for our blood. But regardless, I either train, or sneak Lyssandra off for some more… training.
Elthea: Cha’ka has been teaching me how to fight with a lotulis, and I have a small library I bring everywhere.
Haneth Tsalaxa: I have taken up the fine art of painting. The paints are quite expensive, and with Balic being… unavailable, I expect the price to rise sharply. All the better for my Nibenay warehouses of the stuff.
Harzen Scorchedskull: Torturing criminals, drawing up diagrams, making plans. I even go down to the Academy when the mood strikes me. Just because I can’t use defiling magic doesn’t mean I can’t teach it! Ah, leadership, and all it’s varied nuisances.
Moiraine: Well, in my few spare moments, I have taken to playing the lute with Slice. He’s not the only one who had bardic aspirations you know.
Mr. Bread: Cooking. I recently came up with this way of making Kank Jelly actually work as a glaze, and help keep you a happy full for hours! Here, I have a batch simmering…
Nihlus Vor: Alas, there is never a spare moment for Nihlus. Heh. Between dodging the lustful women who naturally pursue me, and escaping duels with their vengeful husbands, I am always in peril!
Slice: I have just about mastered the lute and harp. Next, the pipes!
Verin Mathwin: Well, I need to drink water more or less constantly, otherwise, blood frenzy. So, I have mastered the fine art of the Nibenese Tea Ceremony!
